Rollercoasters; My Love-Hate Relationship

If you follow me on Instagram, you already have an idea of what is going on my crazy, little world. But, for the record and so I don't forget (yeah right!) I want to document what is happening.

I am 39 weeks, 4 days as of today with baby girl. Throughout this WHOLE pregnancy, the plan was to induce at 39 weeks due to us being so far from the hospital (1 hour 15 minutes). My doctor is super cool and was totally fine with this plan and of course, so were we.

As of last Tuesday, the nurse had my induction scheduled for Monday, June 23rd. I was so excited that I would just have to get through that week and weekend and Monday we would have a baby. As most of you moms know, you don't "mess around" with telling a woman when she's going to have a baby. Well, we made our arrangements for Lexi Belle- mom and dad took vacation to keep her, got a hotel room in the city, etc. Everyone was so excited and ready to meet this sweet girl and then I got the call. 10 minutes before we were getting ready to leave for Kansas City.

My doctor called me from her personal cell phone, which automatically threw up the red flag for me. She said that someone in the scheduling department at the hospital screwed up and they were NOT going to be able to do the induction as planned. Talk about a sock in the gut. I held myself together for a few minutes before hysterically losing it and began bawling. She was so sorry and angry, as well. I knew it wasn't her fault, but was also thinking that there should be SOMETHING she could do. Needless to say, she told me my options and we decided that my best option was to do it on Friday. Tomorrow.

Thank goodness for an amazing family...that's all I am going to say. My mom was already on vacation for two weeks, so she has been making my week so much better. She got me a prenatal massage yesterday and has been helping me with Lexi Belle. I honestly don't know what I'd do without an awesome husband, mom & dad, and entire family. Lexi Belle got me through it, too. Her sweet little smile and the way she yells, "MOM!" when I walk  in the room lit up my day.

In the grand scheme of things, this is so minor...but when you mentally prepare yourself to HAVE A BABY and someone tells you it isn't going to go as planned, you freak.

BUT.
It's Thursday, tomorrow is Friday, and I will have my sweet baby tomorrow.

...and that's all that matters.

:)
