Rollercoasters; My Love-Hate Relationship

If you follow me on Instagram, you already have an idea of what is going on my crazy, little world. But, for the record and so I don't forget (yeah right!) I want to document what is happening.

I am 39 weeks, 4 days as of today with baby girl. Throughout this WHOLE pregnancy, the plan was to induce at 39 weeks due to us being so far from the hospital (1 hour 15 minutes). My doctor is super cool and was totally fine with this plan and of course, so were we.

As of last Tuesday, the nurse had my induction scheduled for Monday, June 23rd. I was so excited that I would just have to get through that week and weekend and Monday we would have a baby. As most of you moms know, you don't "mess around" with telling a woman when she's going to have a baby. Well, we made our arrangements for Lexi Belle- mom and dad took vacation to keep her, got a hotel room in the city, etc. Everyone was so excited and ready to meet this sweet girl and then I got the call. 10 minutes before we were getting ready to leave for Kansas City.

My doctor called me from her personal cell phone, which automatically threw up the red flag for me. She said that someone in the scheduling department at the hospital screwed up and they were NOT going to be able to do the induction as planned. Talk about a sock in the gut. I held myself together for a few minutes before hysterically losing it and began bawling. She was so sorry and angry, as well. I knew it wasn't her fault, but was also thinking that there should be SOMETHING she could do. Needless to say, she told me my options and we decided that my best option was to do it on Friday. Tomorrow.

Thank goodness for an amazing family...that's all I am going to say. My mom was already on vacation for two weeks, so she has been making my week so much better. She got me a prenatal massage yesterday and has been helping me with Lexi Belle. I honestly don't know what I'd do without an awesome husband, mom & dad, and entire family. Lexi Belle got me through it, too. Her sweet little smile and the way she yells, "MOM!" when I walk  in the room lit up my day.

In the grand scheme of things, this is so minor...but when you mentally prepare yourself to HAVE A BABY and someone tells you it isn't going to go as planned, you freak.

BUT.
It's Thursday, tomorrow is Friday, and I will have my sweet baby tomorrow.

...and that's all that matters.

Weekend Recap: Picture Overload

We had such a great weekend. It was our 5th anniversary and Father's Day and we covered a lot of ground! I took a lot of pictures, so bear with me.

Friday was our 5th anniversary, so we dropped Lexi off at my mom and dad's to ride her new pony, Charlie, and then we headed out to a local, quaint restaurant called Gobbler's Roost. Talk about AMAZING! It was a 5 course meal and we so enjoyed just sitting and enjoying probably our last time out together as parents of one. :)

Jenny, Dad's duck dog. :)

Charlie, Lexi's new pony!

Yeah, she loves him.

Saturday we just hung out around home....and Lexi Belle gave me some good photo ops! I love days at home! I planted some herbs and Robert mowed and worked on tiling the girl's bathroom!

Just a typical day around our house! :)

Sunday was Father's Day and Lexi Belle gave her daddy his gifts and we had a great day of church, family, and relaxing. I'd say that's a pretty dang great weekend. :)

Hope everyone had a great Father's Day weekend! Happy Monday.

...and on another note; next week is BABY WEEK!!!!!

37 Week Update & Father's Day Gift Idea

Yesterday we went for our 37 weekly check-up to see what progress Miss Harli Gray is making. Secretly I was hoping that I would be like a 6-7 and my doctor would say, "Let's do it." Ha, yeah right. It's still a little early for that. BUT, I was 2-3 cm and progressing well. She said if I haven't went into labor before the 23rd, we would induce that day (39 weeks)!!!! Honestly, I hope that she holds out until that day. I like to have a plan and would feel much more comfortable knowing that we are going in on that day and will have a baby no matter what. That's more along the lines of my type of labor...not the kind that happens in the middle of the night-- that kind scares the livin' daylights out of me. However, she is the one calling the shots here, so we shall see when she makes her grand debut!

Father's Day is right around the corner and Robert is kind of hard to get gifts for. He's picky about his clothes and shoes, doesn't have a ton of hobbies, and I would never dare buy him a tool in fear I'd get the wrong thing. I thought about planning a little trip or something, but the fact that I could pop any minute kind of ruled that one out.

So, I did what any other woman would and scoured pinterest. Duh. I really couldn't find anything that "fit" him, so I was on my own. I finally decided that I would dress Lexi up in some of his everyday work attire items and do a mini photo shoot. I thought that it would be cute to hang in his office and I knew he would just love it.  I am pretty happy with how the final product turned out and can't wait to get them into frames for him!

Brooke's Baby Shower

This past Saturday a couple of my friends and I hosted a baby shower for my sister-in-law, Brooke, and baby Maxon! We had so much fun planning this! We went with a "cowboy" theme because it just fit for my brother and Brooke. I know without a doubt that Max will grow up being outside with the cows and horses and playing in the mud like a little boy should!!

I didn't take as many pictures as I would have liked to, but when you host, it's hard to take pictures! We did a build your own nacho bar and steak tacos! Brooke has craved Mexican food, so we thought this would be an easy and delicious thing to do! Instead of cake we did cupcakes and cookies and they were delicious!!! I failed to get pictures of all of the decor, but here were some of the details! Be prepared for picture overload!

It was such a fun day and I absolutely can't wait to meet my nephew, Max. It's going to be so fun having babies so close together. :)
