Porch Progress: Stained & Stamped Concrete

We finally got half of our porch poured! Woo hoo! They are having to do it in three parts, but here is the progress so far! These guys are definitely hard workers. I can't even imagine having to do what they do! They are so good! Here is where we are right now.

  1. I have never seen concrete actually being stamped like this before. Honestly I didn't know that they use these big stamps and actually stamp them. That is so cool and the designs that they have look super amazing.

  2. I haven't ever seen the process that you have to go through to stamp concrete before. It doesn't seem to be a terribly complicated process. I still wouldn't trust myself to do it, though. I'll just leave it to the professionals.

  4. It's really cool to see the process they go through to make stamped concrete. I'm planning on getting my patio redone in the next month or so. Maybe I should look into getting it stamped when I get it put in.

  5. I have seen that stamped concrete is becoming more and more popular. That is really interesting to me because I love to see the different trends that happen over the years. My home is over fifty years old and has stamped concrete on the patio, when I first moved in I hated it, now that it is becoming more popular my patio is growing on me and I now like it. http://istexas.net/concrete_coating_arlington_tx.html

  6. So it looks like you stained the concrete while it was still being mixed? I had seen a stain that was applied after it was dried but never one that was mixed in. Did you still put a gloss coating after the concrete was set? It looks somewhat red when it was being poured. http://www.grundyredimix.com

  7. I would love to get my backyard converted into a concrete patio. I am not sure how to care for the ground before I get concrete poured. Would I even need to worry about "tilling" the ground before I have someone pour concrete?

  8. These are some really great photos. I have always wondered how they did stamped concrete before. It wasn't until recently I learned that they could do this sort of thing with concrete. This looks like something that would bring the look of my yard together nicely.

  9. This looks really great and it is something that I want to do. I am in the process of getting my concrete patio made and I would like to do all of those things. I don't want a plain and boring concrete slab in my backyard. I want it to look different and stand out when people look at it. I have never done anything like this before and it is pretty exciting.

  10. My parents want to make our front yard look better. With that being the case, they are thinking about maybe taking out our old drive way, and replacing it with stamped concrete. This has some good points that I feel can help them know how this process is supposed to go.

  11. I'm so excited that you got your stamped concrete put in; that really looks great! I am really wanting to get stamped concrete put in around my pool this coming spring, so I've been looking at various patterns and ideas that others have had before me. I really can't wait; it's going to look amazing!
