Destin 2012 Recap

While we were gone I didn't have the time to write up everything we were doing, so I just posted pics.

Well, we had SO MUCH FUN. Lexi Belle simply loved the beach and it was so nice to be able to just sit back and relax! Well, kind of...as much as you can with a one-year-old. I'll just give a brief overview of the trip day-by-day:

Day 1:   We left MO and headed out! We drove all day and stopped in Memphis for a break! We went to a few inning of a Memphis Redbirds game to kill some time and see their stadium! It was really neat. It was so stinkin' hot that Lexi Belle's little face was red and she was getting fussy...so we went up to walk  by where the food vendors are and this nice older lady offered us tickets to go up where there was air conditioning and Lex could run around for awhile. It was a LIFESAVER. Bless her heart. I could have just kissed that nice Tennessee lady. After the game, we took a walk down Beale Street. Pretty cool, but I think it would have been much better at night. We ate at Blues City Cafe, or something like that. It was pretty good! After we ate, we headed back out on the road until we got to a little town before Hattiesburg, Mississippi. We spent the night there and headed back out the next morning!

Day 2: We drove to Destin! We couldn't check in to our condo until Wednesday (this was Tuesday) so we got a room at the Hilton in Sandestin. This was a really nice hotel, but the cool part was that they were having an SEC conference there so ALL of the SEC coaches, and their families, were there! How cool! We sat in the pool and watched them all walk in...so that was pretty neat! We took LB to the beach for the first time that night and she just fell in love! She dug her little feet in the sand and just grinned and squealed. That right there was definitely worth the trip!

We also ate at Pompano Joes that day. It was this awesome little beach restaurant and I had the BEST coconut shrimp I've ever had! Awesome!

The next few days were spent at our condo. It was PERFECT for what we needed and we enjoyed it so much. The pics in previous posts show what our condo looked like...

But basically we just went to the beach and the pool every day and went out to eat at night! If you are going to the Destin area, be sure to check out:
