I wonder if Lexi will be this chatty...:)

This is pretty cute...I just wonder if Lexi will be so talkative! I hope so! (I think!)

Baby Shower

Last Saturday, our good friends Candi, Renee, and Emily put on an amazing shower for us! It was absolutely wonderful. Those girls put so much work into it and we can't thank them enough. Every little detail was awesome! Here are some pics I took before everyone got there...

Everything was awesome. They matched the theme of the shower with Lexi's nursery colors. These diaper cakes were unbelievable! There were 4 of them and contained over 550 diapers! Can you believe it! They also had M&M's in pink and brown with Lexi Belle's name on them and the picture of my belly with our hands in the shape of hearts on them! It was really more than I could have ever imagined and we can't thank them enough!

We played 3 fun games, but this one was up to the mom's. The teams were Jeanie and Becky vs. my mom and sister, Cameron.

Mom and Cam took home the win!

Here I am with the Renee and Emily!
Thanks girls, it was amazing!

Here I am with my mom and grandma :)

...and me and my little sister Cam :)

It was such a fun day and Lexi got so spoiled with tons of wonderful gifts. We are very lucky to have such loving friends and family!

32 Weeks

This is super late, but Monday I was 32 weeks. We had our first baby shower last Saturday and it was GREAT. I coulnd't have asked for any better. My friends Emily, Renee, and Candi put SO much work into making my baby shower amazing. There were games, great food, gifts, and more! A post will come later on that. I was having problems with my pictures the other night when I tried to do a post.

As for 32 weeks...boy we are getting close....

Total Weight Gain/Loss: At my appointment on Monday I was up 23 lbs. Seems like a lot but the doctor said that I was doing great.

Gender: Girl, Lexi Belle

Movement: The movements are really starting to amaze me now. I can't believe how big some of them are. I swear that she was doing flips in there this week! What cracks me up is when she pokes her little butt (or head) up and there is a huge bump on one side of my belly! I just wonder what body part it is! I am not sure if she is head-up or head-down. It feels like I can feel feet down low, but who knows. :)

Stretchmarks: Nope, linea negra (sp) is here for sure!

Sleep: This past week I have slept better than I have for awhile! I think it's because I'm so tired when I lay down that there is no stopping the sleep. I haven't been tossing as much. Usually I am parked on my left side. Body pillow wedged behind my back, regular pillow wedged in front. Weird, but it works.

What I miss: Nothing really. The swelling is back so maybe normal sized ankles and feet.

Cravings: Nothing different. Just eating like usual.

Symptoms: Contractions. The real ones. Apparently I thought they were Braxton Hicks...but when I described them to my doctor, she said they were the real deal. Yikes. Luckily I haven't had them regularly, but still...kinda scares me!

Best Moment this week: The Baby Shower. We also took a tour of the labor and delivery floor of our hospital. We got to see exactly where we would be and where we would be after having Lexi. Everything was so nice and we were both really impressed with it!

Random Updates: I am really feeling huge. I don't know what the deal is because I still have 8 weeks (really almost 7) but I feel like a cow. I have recently been emotional, too. I haven't been hardly at all since I've been preggo, but lately the littlest things can put me to tears. Yuck.

Week 32 marks a 3 3/4 pound, 16 inch jicama. It's a root vegetable I'm sure you've tasted without realizing it in foods like Mexican/Asian slaws. Either way, it's representing a heavy baby that sits on my bladder:) As of this week, the baby's skin is no longer transparent as she continues to build a healthy layer of fat.

The Bedding! ...And Some Other Nursery Additions!

This Spring Break has been a BLAST so far... and it's only day 2! Monday Mom, Grandma, Cameron, and I left on a mission to the Branson Outlet Malls. We spent the whole day shopping and had a great time! It was fun to get away for a day and even though we got a SNOW in mid-March, it didn't stop us!

Today our mission was to finish (and start) Lexi's bedding. As I have mentioned in earlier posts, I REFUSE to spend $400 on bedding, so instead I roped Mom and Grandma into helping me make it. It was definitely a team effort, but after a few hours we nailed it! Thank goodness I have a mom and Grandma who know what they are doing when it comes to sewing. It turned out GREAT and I couldn't be happier with it. It was definitely worth the trouble (I say this like I contributed a ton...I was more moral support than anything.) We had a fun day together and not only is the bedding adorable, it will be awesome to think that we had a great day together and Lexi's bedding was made by her mom, grandma, and great-grandma. :) Here are the sewing machines...

Here are a few pictures of the bedding...Also, we have 2 new additions to the nursery. One is the new glider...THANK YOU GREAT GRANDMA AND GRANDPA!! It looks great and matches perfectly. The next item is the changing table. I ordered this not sure how it would be, but we love it and it also matches perfectly! We hung the letters above it and I am really liking it! The nursery isn't 100% complete, but we made some major headway in the last couple of days!

Enjoy the pics...

I'm really liking how it is turning out...:)
Time is ticking...and Lexi Belle will be here before we know it!

Headbands

So like every other momma-to-be, I love the headbands that baby girls wear these days. The crocheted, the cotton, and the nylon. I decided I wasn't going to buy a ton for Lexi, but instead I was going to make them. So, I ordered a lot of colors of each. I also ordered the big flowers and made her a ton of bows! BUT, the latest thing I love is the poofs! They are soooo cute. I've gotten 8 different colors I think...but I just can't wait to put them on one of the little nylon headbands and put it on Miss Lexi. Here is a picture of what I'm thinking...

...and no, dad, it won't squeeze her little head. My dad has a major issue with the thought of headbands squeezing her little head. I betcha that when she goes to Grandpa's that he yanks that thing right off her head. :)

And as for her father...he said that he's drawing the line and we are NOT putting a big poof ball on her head...I beg to differ. I think it's adorable.

Well, that's it for now. It's Friday...and next week is Spring Break. That means I AM A HAPPY CAMPER. Plus, on top of that, next Saturday is my baby shower...and I am beyond excited!

30 Weeks

Wow! We have reached the 30 week mark! This is flying by! We went to the doctor yesterday for our last "monthy" check-up. Now we are down the the every 2 weeks appointments! Crazy! Robert wasn't able to get away from work, so my mom went with me. We had some extra time before the appointment so we ran to Michael's and got some frames for the 3D pictures for Lexi's nursery. The appointment went great. Short and sweet. I'm measuring 32 cm and Lexi's heartbeat was in the upper 150's-160! She was really movin'! Everything else was great and now we are just on the countdown! After the appointment Mom and I went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner which was awesome! After that we ran to Target where I needed to get a few little things for Lexi. Mom ended up buying her her first swimming suit and it is ADORABLE! She got a one piece since Lexi's daddy isn't much for the two-piece. Think he is going to be somewhat protective? I think so. It was a fun day and I had a really fun time with Mom.

So for the 30 week update...here's where we are at:

How Far Along: 30Weeks

Size of baby: Lexi weighs as much as a large cabbage. She is tipping the scales this week at 3 pounds. (Length: about 15 3/4 inches, head to heel.)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 19 pounds. I took a jump this month. 9 pounds in one month?? Yikes! My doctor said that it was fine since I had only gained 10 pounds up to that point...but dang! I can't do that again!
Maternity Clothes: Pants and tights for sure...Shirts are a mixture of regular and maternity...mostly regular. I do have to wear Robert's shirts to sleep in. If I wear mine, they are around my neck when I wake up in the morning. :)
Gender: Girl, Lexi Belle
Movement: Constant! While my doctor was listening to the heartbeat yesterday, Lexi kicked really hard and my belly popped up! My doctor just smiled at me! My 20 year-old brother, Ethan, is home for Spring Break so he got to feel her kick the other night.
Sleep: It's about the same as it has been. I have better nights than others, but I wake up quite a bit at night. I roll from my left side to my right, then on my back. I'll be so glad to sleep all night...but that won't happen for a LONG time!
What I miss: Nothing really, maybe breathing.
Cravings: Nothing in particular. I just eat :)
Symptoms: Sore back, shortness of breath, swelling (although it is better now). My Dr. said that it will be worse at the end of the week...which was the case last week.
Best Moment this week: Hearing her heartbeat once again and knowing she's doing great! Nursery progress is coming a long so that's exciting too! I ordered the changing table yesterday so hopefully it will be in next week!

29 Weeks

I just realized I forgot to post a 29 week update on Monday! So here's the latest:

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Don't know. We go to the doctor on Monday, so I will know then. I'm sure it's taken a big jump!

Gender: Girl, Lexi Belle
Movement: All of the time. She's an active little girl. I'm starting to notice her kicking, or punching, high and low at the same time! She must be upside down or sitting straight up! (Hence the sore ribs!)
Stretchmarks: None yet. My belly button is flat as a pancake though! It's so weird!
Sleep: I wake up frequently during the night. Seems like I can't get comfortable. I must be getting enough sleep though because I'm not dog tired in the mornings. I have realized that the tighter I get the pillows around me at night- the better I sleep! We've got the routine down pretty good now! The pregnancy pillow might have to stay after Lexi gets here. We are getting pretty fond of it!
What I miss: Being able to sit down after I eat without feeling like I'm going to hyperventilate! It's so worth it though! Also, being able to bend over to put my socks and shoes on without feeling like I'm about to pass out! I'm also at the point where I can't see my feet if I look straight down. :)
Cravings: I'm not really having any cravings lately. I've reallllly been wanting a vanilla diet coke from Sonic...I'm going to have to start watching the fried stuff...and drink more water...because my feet and legs are starting to swell at the end of the day. :(
Symptoms: The sore ribs have gotten better. The shortness of breath hasn't and I think it's only going to get worse. Swelling is also beginning. Fun stuff!
Best Moment this week: Getting her room all ready. We aren't done yet, but we are getting there. I'm hoping the fabric for her bedding comes in today so we can get started on it!
Random Updates: Nothing major this week...just watching her grow ( and myself grow!)

Baby Lexi is the size of a butternut squash:

29 Week Belly Pic:

(sorry, iPhone pic again!)

I can't believe we only have 10 weeks left. This pregnancy has flown by faster than I ever thought it would! I'm really looking forward to Spring Break, which is the 14th-18th, and then my first shower on the 19th! I know my friends have been working hard on it and I can't wait to see what all they have planned!

We are off to Potosi this weekend to visit RK's family. We haven't been back for awhile, so it will be great to see all of them! We found out yesterday some great medical news about his dad and we couldn't be more thankful.
